Eugen Fink's editorial remarks

Edmund Husserl

pp. 13-15

This draft of a "Preface" to the Logical Investigations — written in 1913, but published for the first time here — was intended by Edmund Husserl as an introduction to the revised second edition of his work. However, Husserl eventually substituted another, considerably shorter preface to the second edition in which he addresses himself primarily to the guidelines used in the revision. Only in a few places do we find anything reminiscent of the preface which is here printed for the first time.
